Cross-Country Skiing
Cross-country skiing in the Gsiesertal and surrounding areas is a hidden gem for all cross-country enthusiasts. The expansive, sunny valley floor offers over 42 km of stunning trails through an untouched winter landscape. Glide through snow-covered forests, passing by picturesque farmhouses and cozy inns, perfect for a relaxing break. The trail starts in Welsberg and stretches all the way to St. Magdalena, with a moderate ascent up to St. Martin. The final climb to the valley’s end in St. Magdalena rewards you with breathtaking views of your completed journey. In Welsberg, you can also access connecting trails that lead you into the neighboring 3 Zinnen Dolomites region. A particularly convenient feature: both ski resorts are easily accessible by train from Welsberg, with the cable cars located directly at the train stations.
